Lawn Installation
Time is a key factor when it comes to turf installation. From the turf farm to your fully laid out lawn, it is all a matter of timing. The number one worry; your turf drying out.
You need to make sure you order your turf to be delivered the day you plan to install it. Once the turf has been cut at the farm, it’ll be under stress. So, the sooner it is laid out, the better.
TIP: Check the weather forecast. If it’s going to be a hot one, start earlier in the morning and get the sprinkler on as soon as you can.
The next thing is to do as much of the soil preparation before the turf is delivered. Clearing of the area and chemical weed control needs to be done well in advance (about 2 weeks) and putting in the underlay can be done the day before.
To try and minimise the chances of your lawn drying out, you should lay it around the edges and along hard surfaces. These spots will be more prone to drying out and the quicker the turf has access to the moisture in the soil, the better.
Most importantly, you can’t rush the process of turf installation. Take your time to make sure all the edges are butted together.
Pop the sprinkler on and then, it’s time to sit back and enjoy the rest of your day after all your hard work.
